    S. I. Emery is my father. I have many sermons that he has preached. I have sat under his ministry and have profited by his insights and by his knowledge. I have never outgrown him, but have wished to talk to him many times since he went to heaven on September 30, 1977.

When I was in elementary school at the Faith Mission in Tessenei, Eritrea, our chathacism (sp) book was a booklet written by Dr. S. I. Emery. When I came to the United States for my college education, the Wesleyan Bible Institute at Cedar Springs, Michigan accepted me and enrolled there where I received the AA degree. Dr. Emery attended the Holiness Church across the Institution where I occasionally attended for evening services. I was fortunate to have met Dr. Emory in 1974. I even felt enriched when he told me that his I in name, S. I. Emery stood for Isaac and he said “we share common name and common faith” to my humble sense. I now live in Missouri teaching in the University of Missouri System. Thank God for S. I. Emery, Victor Glenn, Glenn Griffith, H. E Schmul, L. W. Barbee, and the many American missionaries who came to my country and sowed the seed of salvation and sanctification to me and many like me. God is great; American is a great instrument in God’s divine hand. Many thanks for those who created this site as a source of timeless and inspiring sermons.

Thank you so much for blessing the rest of the world with your father’s recordings of his sermons. I am with his grandson Doug and I am in college currently and taking a religion class and have decided to write my final paper after 8 weeks of indecision, on your father/his grandfather S.I. Emery. I read his book, and thought that he was an amazing man. I found these sermons while searching for additional information that I can use in my paper. I am sitting here listening to them and so is Doug. It touched my heart to see the look of admiration and love that crossed Doug’s face when he heard his voice.
    Thank you again,
    Teresa
