I have had the privilege of hearing many of these great men (and there are many)but it is my opinion that LB Hicks was the greatest orator of our generation. I would love to obtain some tapes of his sermons.
Dr Hicks preached one of the best sermons on consecration I ever heard. It was on tape, and had an illustration about a one eyed, one eared, ragged teddy bear.
Dr. L. B. Hicks was, without a doubt, the greatest orator in the Church of the Nazarene. His message ‘There must be a Heaven someplace’ is masterful. I was privileged to hear him in person on a number of occasions. I’m thankful that these messages have been preserved for another generation to enjoy and be blessed by.
Brother Hicks preached the Word of God with fire. He was a man dedicated to Christ and His kingdom and he lived a life that honored the Lord. I can’t wait to see this brother in heaven and speak to him about his faith in God.

I grew up in the community that Dr. Hicks was raised in. I visited his grave site in Burwood, Tn. just a few weeks ago. My mom was saved in a revival at Franklin Church of the Nazarene that Dr. Hicks preached in the mid 40’s.

Sir,
I just wanted to say thank you so much for these sermons. I just can’t get away from this particular sermon: This Is That. I have listened twice at least, and more times are sure to come. It’s the Truth and it’s alive. God give me what this man had. God give it to us all. Not the sermon, the oratory, but Second Blessing Holiness and that live connection with Him. And may He bless you for posting it. Keep up the good work.
Kind regards,
Samuel.
Thank you! I agree with your sentiments completely – God help us to possess what You promised!

Praise God truly a great man of God L B Hicks. How we so desparately need more preachers like him today
I grew up in the First Church of the Nazarene , Ashland, my. In the 1950’s Dr Hicks was my pastor and I still remember some of the sermons that are on this web site. I still have my copy of the sermon “there must be a Heaven somewhere” which I still read every few years. . Dr Hicks was one the kindness , gentle men I have ever known . I believe he lived exactly what he preached and he had a life long affect on my and my sisters and cousins lives. He was a true Christain and man of God.,
